It Is Written Launches “Sanctuary Quest” Interactive Adventure
Collaboration with Narrow Gate Media Gets Results for “The Presence”
(Simi Valley, Calif.) – It Is Written Television today announces the launch of Sanctuary Quest, an online interactive adventure that showcases artifacts from the ancient Hebrew Sanctuary. This program points people to the relevance of the Sanctuary in contemporary life, and invites participants to learn more by attending The Presence at one of hundreds of locations across the country starting Sept. 29.
“The Internet is a powerful point of contact with the globe,” said Shawn Boonstra, speaker/director for It Is Written Television. “Sanctuary Quest is a great example of how it can be used to bring the whole world to your doorstep.”
To develop Sanctuary Quest as a state-of-the-art interactive adventure, It Is Written collaborated with Narrow Gate Media in Vancouver, Wash., contracting with them to develop the storyline, core visual elements and back-end programming.
“Our team is committed to helping local churches harness the power of visual media and today’s technology,” said Larry Witzel, vice president for product development at Narrow Gate Media. “Because The Presence focuses on equipping local churches, collaborating with It Is Written on this project was a natural extension of our mission.”
Sanctuary Quest takes the user on a seven-week journey of discovering the different furnishings of the ancient Sanctuary, with hints at their relevance for today. Each week, the user must find the answer to a difficult Bible question by looking on various It Is Written websites, such as itiswritten.com, bibleinfo.com, kidsbibleinfo.com and unlockthesigns.com. When the correct answer is given, a crate opens to reveal a 3D rendering of a piece of Sanctuary furniture, while a video clip of Shawn Boonstra provides a short commentary about that piece.
A surprise awaits the user at the end of the adventure, when a Sanctuary animation plays, complete with a burning sacrifice and incense smoke. This painstaking re-creation is based on measurements given in the Pentateuch, and state-of-the-art animation techniques were used in its development.
Throughout the adventure, the user is encouraged to find a location to attend The Presence, a five-night satellite event about the Sanctuary.
